Hello, our wedding is June 11, 2011 and we are having a h'ordeuvres and cocktail reception. I'm a big comfort food fan and I found this great picture out of a wedding magazine showing grilled cheese wedged in a glass of tomato soup, looks really cute.  Now we are thinking of mac n' cheese maybe a pasta bar and so on, we want to have fun with our menu.  We are also coming up with a signature drink 2 of them, our colors are black and red.  Does anyone have any ideas for me so I can cement some definite ideas, or if anyone has had this type of reception please give me do's and don'ts and any ideas will be much much appreciated!!

Thanks ladies!

This is the kind of reception I'm having too and I think it's a great idea. I am serving the same mini grilled cheese and tomato soup shooters as an hors doeuvres during the cocktail hour and dinner will be stations with things like sliders, milkshake shooters, lobster mac n cheese, sushi, pizza, etc etc.

I think it is a lot of fun and am very excited that my food isnt the boring "chicken or fish'. It is pricey but I think it's well worth it!
